MAKE A WISH...BONE!
Made out of a realistic synthetic plastic, the "bone" breaks just like the real thing! I used them last year at my Thanksgiving table and they were a HUGE hit. They are so cute with a bow and tag attached to them inviting your guests to "make a wish!" Affordable and fun, I think this is a must have addition to your Thanksgiving feast!

WALL BLEMISHES
You spend the time and money on a fresh coat of paint for your space, and despite your coordination and planning, the light switch plate is staring at you in its ugly taupe/beige plastic glory, daring you to paint him too... But I say, “You’re outta here!” Especially now that I found these:
These groovy little plates come in a variety of motifs and make the light plate interruption a triumphant exclamation!!
Wall thermostats are another doosey, really worse than light plates because these guys can end up in the funkiest of places. I have a great buddy Ed who decided that his little thermostat was the jumping point for inspiration, not a jumping point of despair! Check out how he cleverly merchandised some of his interesting artwork to compliment the unchangeable thermostat...it virtually disappears.
On the same topic but another surface: who has your heat vents in the FLOOR?! It blows my mind (no pun intended) that huge holes were put in the ground for air flow in the first place, but a lot of us have them, and they are usually just as awkward and inconveniently placed as your mother-in-law's 80 year old chihuahua at the Thanksgiving table. Keep Fido from falling into one of said holes with a groovy grate like this one:

Its modern lines and unsymmetrical layout will draw some wanted attention to those floor holes, even if they are placed right next to the front door. Get inspired to take those unsightly necessities around the house and make them into stylish accessories for your room!

IPOD STYLE
I was probably one of the last people in America to buy an ipod when I purchased mine just a few months ago. Now that I have one I've been finding all sorts of stylish, quirky and fun ways to dock my ipod in my home.
Take Wood Tec on Etsy's site. The artist (and electrician??) creates these beautiful branch ipod docks. This piece of technology is beautiful enough to have out on display in your home.
Hammecher Schlemmer offers wireless sphere speakers for your ipod dock, allowing you to move them around up to 120' around the house or to the backyard. This customizable option is really convenient and still sleek. For $150, it's also an affordable way to provide all around sound without expensive speaker installations.
Artist Fiona Thomson created this conceptual piece to update classic art with current technology. Somebody better start manufacturing this asap! I have a piano that would pair with this perfectly!
Lastly, I realize recession-chic is in right now, but mostly out of necessity. I mean, my "new" ipod was bought used on Ebay for more than half the cost, so I can understand how these gadgets can be nice to look at, but not realistic to buy. This must have been the vision behind Case-mate's iphone recession case. For just $ .99 you can protect your valuable investment with a cardboard case. Yes- cardboard!
It's nice to see artistic minds get behind the beautification of our technology. You don't need to sacrifice design and style in this digital world!
WRAP IT UP {PART 2}
The holidays are my favorite time of year. The spirit of giving that comes along with the season is the perfect time to tell the ones you love how much you care about them. By taking the time to wrap each gift given this season in personalized, unique wrapping and putting care into every detail, you are sure to let your gift recipient know that they hold a special place in your heart. I kicked off my series on my favorite wrapping trends of the year in my last post. Here are a few more of my favorites to get you in the spirit!

WRAP IT UP {PART 1}
Without a doubt, the holidays are my favorite time of the year and since they are right around the corner, I’ve been thinking a lot about gift wrap. Each year, I try to individualize each present with unique wrapping to make it extra special. Thoughtful gift wrap is a wonderful opportunity to express yourself and give the recipient a gift within a gift! I admit that it can be easy to stick to the same paper for all of your wrappings, but why not take the extra step of personalized wrapping to really show you care? It truly can be easy...here are a few ideas to get you started!

BOOTS WITH THE FURRR...
Fur, fur, fur! It’s cold in here and wanting to be toasty and fashionable has me thinking of fur. I am in LOVE *singing voice* with these hand warming gloves from Philip Sparks!
Unfortunately, the $715 dollar price tag on these will take my next paycheck, but I’m into the fur vest idea this winter too! I love to shop vintage and always find great furs out there that need someone to love them.

This vest is a bargain from H&M and I’m in love with the belted idea to make this less Viking Pelt more Urban Chic! The Faux Fur manufacturing process has come leaps and bounds over the last 5 years and this winter's market should present us with a lot of great fur alternatives that are pleasantly deceiving.
But still, there is a place in my heart for the real deal, call it the “cave man” in me, but at $66 bucks this rabbit fur hat is on my must have list as the winter season approaches! This is one of MANY offerings from Russian Legacy.
Now, would I wear them all at once? I’m a crazy guy, but I’m not a Wild Thing! I would recommend sticking to one fur appointment per day. This trend can definitely be over done.

COCKTAIL ATTIRE
One of my favorite things to do when shopping for wine is to rate the labels. So many wine makers are coming out with inventive and fun labels these days. That is why I LOVE the label for Drink n' Stick wine by Some Young Punks. It comes adorned with a saucy little pin up model complete with peel and stick clothes a la paper dolls! As you drink the wine down these lovely pin up models can be dressed or … undressed. It makes for great conversation and is sure to bring laughter to any get together! Genius!
